Hot Topics in Pyrogen Testing

: 15 Oct 2024

Sector : Pharmaceutical

Type : Virtual Event

½ day virtual meeting
13.00 – 16.20 (BST) - Via Zoom

Pyrogen Detection has been an area for the Pharmaceutical Microbiologist that has observed a wind of change in recent years.   There have been many regulatory changes and proposed updates in recent years, spanning bacterial endotoxin testing and pyrogen detection. Understanding the various regulatory requirements is important to provide a strategy to ensure the quality of the products that are being manufactured.  It may be a combination of risk assessment, one-off studies during development, and routine end-product testing.

This virtual meeting will cover pyrogen detection, from the use of Monocyte Activation Testing to the adoption of recombinant reagents for bacterial endotoxin testing. Topics will include case studies on endotoxin failures, validation of new methods, and insight into recent regulatory changes across the globe.

This virtual meeting is targeted to those working with contamination control strategies to obtain an overarching understanding of the different aspects to consider, it will be of interest to microbiologists, quality control and quality assurance professionals responsible for risk-based decision-making, and those considering adapting their current pyrogen control approaches, whether that be switching bacterial endotoxin testing to a recombinant alternative or responding to European regulatory updates on pyrogen testing.
