PharmaMedia Dr. Müller (PMM) was founded in 2013 and has specialized in the production and development of microbiological media for all kinds of applications in the pharmaceutical industry.

At PMM, our focus is the production of high-quality culture media as well as the supply of state-of-the-art service to customers. Our product portfolio comprises irradiated environmental monitoring (EM) media, bottled media, and an all-in-one swab. In addition to standard products, we offer customized products according to customer requirements and needs.

All our products are provided with a unique identification barcode, allowing the easy identification of each single container. Also, in accordance with the requirements of our pharmaceutical customers, we focus on delivering one lot per order and providing products with sufficient residual shelf-life.

Key advantages of PMM EM media:

• Production under strict pharmaceutical conditions. At PMM, plated media are produced in cleanrooms that fulfill most of the requirements of a grade A area surrounded by a grade B cleanroom.
• All PMM plates contain a locking lid system, which provides incubation options optimized for the detection of either aerobic or anaerobic microbial count.
• TSA and SDA media have a shelf life of 12 months from the day of production (typically 9 months’ shelf life at delivery).
• SDA media are filled in colored plates to facilitate differentiation from TSA plates, both during application and incubation.
• 90 mm plates have a standard filling volume of 30 mL.
• TSA-U+, a special neutralizer contact plate, is available to neutralize residues of non-volatile disinfectants, like quaternary ammonium compounds, which may be taken up when performing contact tests.

PMM selective media for testing non-sterile products:

• PMM range of selective media covers the media required for objectionable organisms and water testing. These include TSA, SDA, MacConkey-Agar, Mannitol-Salt-Agar, Cetrimide-Agar, VRBD-Agar, and XLD Agar, as well as a medium for Burkholderia cepacia complex.
• The majority of the media is provided with a long shelf-life of 8 or 9 months (except for XLD-Agar, with a shelf-life of 4 months) and typically a 5 to 6 months shelf-life at delivery.

PMM Swab – the safest solution for swab sampling:

• PMM Swab is a gamma-sterilized all-in-one device designed for safe and efficient sampling of surfaces inaccessible with contact plates in critical environments.
• This swab is optimized to provide a qualitative test (presence/absence) for microbiological contamination.
• A flat-sized swab paddle pre-wetted with physiological NaCl solution enables a large swabbing area.
• The TSB medium is protected by a glass ampoule and provides an improved neutralization of disinfectant.
• The growth medium is filled in an ampoule and autoclaved in the final container, thus avoiding an aseptic filling process of the medium into the device.
• The device is triple-wrapped with transparent and hydrogen peroxide impermeable foil, and a hole is present in the 1st and 2nd foil to facilitate sanitization.
