ATCC® Synthetic West Nile Virus RNA Standard - New!

Don't have the resources to grow West Nile Virus in vivo? Go synthetic!

ATCC now offers a Synthetic West Nile Virus RNA Standard, containing single-stranded RNA developed and created for use as a genetic surrogate for West Nile Virus.

The ATCC® VR-3198SD™ construct contains fragments from the 5'UTR region, the anchored capsid protein C gene, the capsid protein C gene, the membrane glycoprotein precursor prM gene, the envelope protein E gene, nonstructural protein NS1, NS2A, NS3, and NS5 genes, and the 3' UTR region of the West Nile Virus genome. Each preparation contains enough synthetic RNA to run 100 assays, and is:

  • PCR-ready
  • Sequence-verified
  • Quantified by copy numbers per vial

Analysis of Synthetic West Nile Virus RNA (ATCC® VR-3198SD)

The standard curve (shown below) was performed using 5 µL of Synthetic West Nile Virus RNA per reaction. Successful PCR amplification generated Ct values within 5% of values expected from the standard curve.

So, stop spending your time with uncooperative mosquitos, and go straight to synthetic nucleic acids!
