BioFront Technologies has been appointed as the North America distributor for the UK-based Biorex Food Diagnostics food safety diagnostic platform. Biorex products include tests for an extensive range of antibiotics, mycotoxins, hormones and beta-agonists. Biorex customers in the UK and around the globe will also have access to Biofront's comprehensive Food Allergen Test Kit line for detecting Gluten, Peanuts, Tree Nuts, Soy, Egg, Milk, Lupin, Seeds (Sesame, Mustard, and Buckwheat), and Shellfish. These ELISA kits have been designed to specifically detect and quantify trace amounts food allergens in complex food matrices and surface rinses.

The Biorex antibiotic kit line encompasses tests for Chloramphenicol, Nitrofuran metabolites, Quinolones, Streptomycin, Sulfonamides, Tetracycline and Tylosin; all of which have fast assay times, low detection limits and simple sample preparations. Mycotoxin kits offered by Biorex include tests for Aflatoxin and Ochratoxin. The hormonal kit portfolio includes tests for Diethylstilbestrol, Zeranol, Trenbolone, Clenbuterol, Ractopamine as well as a broad spectrum Beta-agonist kit capable of detecting 11 compounds. Biorex kits can be used in a wide array of sample matrices including honey, seafood (prawns), urine, milk, animal feed, nuts and dried fruit.
