Established over 100 years ago within the UK Health Service and trading as a private limited company for the past 30 years. SGL has diversified and is providing pre-poured culture media across a wide range of industries.

SGL is well known for its ability to produce customised media solutions, where formulation, format, packaging and testing can all be tailored to suit customer requirements. This can be achieved on small or large scale production batches. SGL is experienced in taking on proprietary products, scaling up production and improving consistency and quality.

Quality Assurance
SGL operates a Quality Management System that complies with ISO 9001 for the manufacture of microbiological media including reagents and stains. All product is manufactured and tested to controlled standards. We provide media complying with a range of regulatory requirements including ISO 11133, Ph. Eur & USP and to customer specifications. Testing is conducted by our own ISO 17025 accredited laboratory.
