The recent iQ-Check Listeria spp. (090701) method modification was evaluated and approved by the AOAC Research lnstitute Performance Tested MethodsSM program on April 26, 2019.
The modification reduces the volume of Listeria Special Broth (LSB) for environmental sponges from 100 ml to 60 ml and shortens the enrichment time for both sponges and swabs from 24-26 hr to 18-26 hr for all surfaces. The modification includes using World Bioproducts HiCap Neutralizing Broth and Letheen Broth as well as both cellulose and polyurethane swabbing material. Included in the matrix study was the application of the iQ-Check Free DNA Removal Solution to reduce amplification of free DNA in the sample. This new extension provides laboratories with more flexibility when testing environmental swabs and sponges.
