Mérieux NutriSciences Acquires Labs in Israel
Mérieux NutriSciences has established a presence for the first time in Israel, by acquiring Milouda & Migal Laboratories. With this acquisition, Mérieux NutriSciences continues to consolidate its position as the premier international leader in food safety and strengthens its presence in the region.
Founded in 1980 as a subsidiary of Milouot, a holding company offering vegetable and fruit production, animal feed and poultry processing activities, Milouda laboratory was initially dedicated to test Milouot’s products. Milouda joined with Migal’s food testing laboratories in 2011, and developed the company’s expertise in analytical testing. Migal laboratories grew as a division of the MIGAL Galilee Research Institute, an interdisciplinary applied research institute whose mission is to promote the industrial, economic and academic development of the Galilee.
Operating for other clients since 2000, Milouda & Migal Laboratories offer a full range of microbiology and chemistry testing services, mostly dedicated to food & environment testing.
With facilities in Haïfa and Kyriat Shmona, Milouda & Migal Laboratories are among the most advanced laboratories groups in Israel. The laboratories are ISO 17025 certified and accredited by Ministry of Health, Agriculture, and Environment. Mérieux NutriSciences will continue developing these two sites, operated with highly skilled employees, and will keep close relationships with Milouot and MIGAL Galilee Research Institute. Mérieux NutriSciences foresees potential future cooperation with MIGAL Galilee Research Institute to further enhance its innovative scientific research activities.
