New MicroVal Expert Laboratories


University of Hannover, Germany and Qlip, The Netherlands, have both been recently approved as MicroVal Expert Laboratories. MicroVal validates and certifies rapid test methods in accordance with ISO 16140, and with that fulfilling EU Legislation: Commission Regulation (EC) 2073/2005 on microbiological criteria for foodstuffs. MicroVal uses selected Expert Laboratories to do these studies. In September 2012, the Division of Molecular Biology of the Institute of Food Quality and Food Safety at University of Veterinary Medicine Hannover, in Germany has qualified as MicroVal Expert Lab. The Institute is EN-ISO/IEC 17025 accredited; see DAkkS registration Nr D-PL-13261-03-00.

The Institute of Food Quality and Food Safety, University of Hannover, is accredited for microbiological analysis of food and drinking water; molecular biological analysis of food and animal fabric; and for selected microbiological analysis according to decree about drinking water. At the end of April 2012, the application by Qlip to become the 11th MicroVal expert lab was approved by the MicroVal General Committee. Qlip specialises in a broad spectrum of chemical and microbiological analyses, most notably in raw milk and dairy products. Qlip also produces reference samples and calibration series for routine compositional analysis in external laboratories and organises proficiency studies. Qlip works from a modern lab in Zutphen, The Netherlands and is accredited according to EN-ISO/IEC 17025 (RvA reg. Nr. L099) and ISO/IEC 17043. For more information: www.qlip.nl.
