Lucideon, the international provider of materials development technologies, testing and assurance has opened a new pharmaceutical quality control testing laboratories.

The £1.5 million investment at its headquarters in Stoke-on-Trent is part of the company’s commitment to providing a comprehensive service for the pharmaceutical, medical devices and consumer healthcare industries.

Facilities include both chemistry and microbiology laboratories providing pharmacopoeial testing (BP, Eur. Ph., USP, JP), quality control (batch release) testing, method development and validation, raw material analysis, stability storage and water testing as well as full microbiology testing including sterility, endotoxin and bioburden determinations.

Dr Richard White, Head of Testing, said: “Our focus is on the provision of a high quality service and fast turnaround times.  We’re unique though in that we don’t just provide routine testing.  Thanks to our advanced surface analysis capabilities and innovative materials technologies, we work with clients to develop the products and processes of the future. This new facility is key to that approach.”
