Unique ATP Bioluminescence Rapid Testing of Goat and Sheep Milk

For many years the dairy industry has used microbial ATP bioluminescence testing to routinely confirm the quality of UHT cow milk products. No comparable method was available to analyze goat and sheep milk so far. Recently, Promicol developed a unique and patented setup which enables analysis of goat and sheep milk using ATP Bioluminescence as well. In this way savings of at least three days over the current traditional test methods for product release will be enabled. Thus, huge savings in storage costs and warehousing are guaranteed.

In comparison to cow milk goat and sheep milk contains a lot of free ATP which is captured in micelles. The current way of ATP Bioluminescence measurement used for cow milk products does not allow removal of this free ATP. Thus, high RLU values will be given for sterile product which makes discrimination between positive and negative samples impossible. Therefore, a specific way of measurement is required.

Promicol invented a completely new way of ATP bioluminescence measurement. Instead of a one second measurement a kinetic measurement is used to analyze goat and sheep milk samples. Together with specially developed reagents coping with the conditions in goat and sheep milk a clear discrimination between positive and negative samples is possible.

In order to analyze those products the Microbial ATP Detection Test Kit for Goat and Sheep Milk, a Promilite instrument as well as Promicols specific software suitable for goat and sheep milk testing is needed. The test procedures are simple, do not require any sample preparation and are very easy to use. Using this unique setup goat and sheep milk can be analyzed using the Promicol microbial ATP detection method. Samples are analyzed after a pre-incubation period of 2 days which enables release of products to the market at an earlier stage compared to traditional method.

Promicol aims to develop a long term relationship with its customers, built on trust, innovation and expertise. It is our goal to provide a service that is in touch with the needs of your quality management and to your demands from rapidly changing markets, making ATP work for you, together with you.
