Esco Labculture Class II Type B2 Biosafety Cabinets UL-Certified for Electrical Safety
go back to news archives
Esco's Labculture Class II Type B2 biosafety cabinets have been certified to the UL 61010A-1 (Underwriters Laboratories, Inc) safety requirements for "Electrical Equipment for Laboratory Use", for USA (UL) and for Canada (UL-C). Compliance to the UL safety requirements is a pre-requisite for NSF49-certification of biosafety cabinets.
This is the third Esco biosafety cabinet to be certified to the NSF49, making Esco 1 of 11 biosafety cabinet manufacturers in the world to be certified to this stringent biosafety standard. Esco is also one of the few to have products certified to both the US NSF49 and European EN12469 for biosafety cabinets.
Launched in the first quarter of 2005, Esco's Labculture® Class II Type B2 biosafety cabinet features many unique, state-of-the-art developments which include superior ULPA filters with >99.999% efficiency, a microprocessor-based control system, BioCote® anti-microbial powder-coated body and laminated shatter-proof safety glass. Incorporating a non-circulating total exhaust design, the cabinet provides ISO Class 3 cleanliness within workzone to protect the operator, product and environment from biohazardous aerosols.
Esco Labculture® Class II Type B2 cabinets and other Esco Labculture® range laminar flow and biosafety cabinets are distributed in the USA by API, Inc.
