EUCAST Disk Diffusion Guidelines in BIOMIC V3
go back to news archives The new EUCAST (European Committee on Antimicrobial Susceptibility Testing) disk diffusion guidelines are in the BIOMIC V3 software. The guidelines include EUCAST breakpoint tables and zone diameter breakpoints, as published on December 21, 2009. The Resistance Monitoring Center checks antibiotic all disk diffusion test results for resistance mechanisms, report appropriate comments, and flag unlikely results. BIOMIC V3's advanced color digital imaging technology automates the reading, interpretation, and reporting of EUCAST, CLSI, and BSAC antibiotic disk diffusion tests and commercial identification panels including API® (bioMerieux), RapID™ (Remel), BBL™ CrystalTM (BD). The addition of a bar code reader coupled with bi-directional LIS/LIMS interface capability further speeds workflow. BIOMIC V3 serves as a primary or secondary AST-ID system for microbiology laboratories of all sizes and setups. Since 1984, Giles Scientific (California, USA) has served clinical and industrial microbiology laboratories in 55+ countries. |
