The kits are designed to detect single species like Listeria monocytogenes, groups of microorganisms like all bacteria from the genus Listeria or total bacterial count.

Using a 96-well microplate allows for economical, high-throughput screening but it is also possible to split the plate and run single samples. The test principle is based on the sandwich hybridisation method.
