QuickTox Kit For Aflatoxin Gets USDA Approval
go back to news archivesQuickTox Kit from EnviroLogix Inc for Aflatoxin, the first lateral flow strip for the detection of mycotoxins in grain, has now gained the USDA's Certificate of Performance.
QuickTox for Aflatoxin continues to offer a fast, reliable and easy method for screening corn and cottonseed for this naturally occurring toxin. The test gives an accurate yes/no result within 2-5 minutes, providing convenience where simplicity and speed are vital. Only three easy steps: extract the sample in methanol; dilute with water; drop in a test strip. The results are read visually, and no filtering or costly equipment is necessary.
This is the first lateral flow test to be certified by the Grain Inspection, Packers and Stockyards Administration (GIPSA) unit of the U.S. Department of Agriculture, proven to meet the test performance claim of detecting aflatoxin contamination in bulk corn samples at 20 ppb and above.
The QuickTox Kit for Aflatoxin (Cat. No. AS 101 BG) is available directly from EnviroLogix. EnviroLogix develops, manufactures and markets immunoassay test kits for the food safety and water quality markets and offers custom antibody and assay development services.
