MicroBioLogics Receives 2009 International Trade Award
MicroBioLogics, Inc. has been honored with the 2009 Governor's International Trade Award. The award is given by the Minnesota Trade Office and honors Minnesota companies that have excelled in the international marketplace. MicroBioLogics was presented with the award at the 25th Annual Minnesota World Trade Week Luncheon on May 15, 2009. The Minnesota Trade Office (MTO) is a division of the State of Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development (DEED) and is Minnesota's official export assistance agency. Recipients of the Governor's International Trade Award are selected based on a specific criterion. A significant portion of the company's business must be international. They must also display growth in their international business over the last three years and the probability to continue that growth in years to come. Most importantly, the recipients must increase or maintain the number of employees in Minnesota throughout the expansion of their international activities. MicroBioLogics CEO, Robert Coborn received the award on behalf of the company. Mr. Coborn has been at the helm of MicroBioLogics for 25 years. The company started with just five employees and now has nearly sixty; fifty-four of which reside in Minnesota. Coborn explains, 'Supporting our local economy has always been an important part of our business plan. We want MicroBioLogics to make a positive impact on Minnesota's community. It's so rewarding to be recognized for the years of hard work we have devoted to positioning MicroBioLogics as a global leader in our industry. Without the dedication of our loyal employees, this company would not be where it is today.' |
