High Throughput Electrophoresis Systems for PCR
go back to news archives Two new Gel Systems which are ideally suited for high throughput electrophoresis of PCR products from 96 well microtitre plates, have been introduced by CLEAVER SCIENTIFIC (CSL). The compact CSL multiSUB Midi 96 system is designed to be used in conjunction with samples from 96 well plates to allow direct loading and easy identification of samples. The run length between samples is 17mm. Also available is the multiSUB MIDI96 stretch, which has a run length of 34mm for those requiring extended separations. With an average run-time of just 15 to 30 minutes, the Midi 96 version allows rapid identification of samples. Direct rapid sample loading is facilitated using 8 channel pipettes. Two different types of comb are available - one with 8 wells and one additional lane for DNA markers and one with 8 wells plus two additional lanes for markers. Custom made combs to other formats are also available on request. The buffer volume of the Midi 96 is just 300ml. This can be reduced using convenient buffer saver blocks to 200ml. Rapid leak-proof gel casting is facilitated using end dams and an all-in-one comb block, no placing of individual combs is required. Other convenient features include well visualisation aids and loading guides for easy sample loading. |
