New PowerFood™ Microbial DNA Isolation Kit.
go back to news archivesThe PowerFood™ Microbial DNA Isolation Kit stands out from other commercial food kits with its easy-to-use protocol that allows for isolation of DNA from a variety of food pathogens. Further, it is the only complete kit on the market, eliminating the need to purchase additional reagents and enzymes. The PowerFood™ Microbial DNA Isolation Kit incorporates our patented Inhibitor Removal Technology® (IRT) to remove PCR-inhibiting compounds associated with food cultures, including lipids and polysaccharides. The IRT buffers provide high quality, inhibitor-free DNA for use in downstream applications including PCR, qPCR and genotyping. Food samples examined using the PowerFood ™ Microbial DNA Isolation Kit include meats, cheeses and dairy products, chocolate, fruits, vegetables, and juices. Food pathogen DNA isolated from the following organisms was shown to be PCR inhibitor free: Clostridium difficile, Clostridium perfringens, Enterococcus faecalis, Escherichia coli, Lactobacillus sp., Listeria monocytogenes, and Salmonella enterica. |
