Rapid DNA/RNA Sample Concentration

Barloworld Scientific´s benchtop equipment brand Stuart® has expanded its comprehensive block heater range to incorporate a new sample concentrator and a new digital 130'C block heater with the extra capacity of three blocks.

The sample concentrator is ideal for quickly reducing sample volumes or removal of ethanol from RNA or DNA samples. The unit consists of a height adjustable gas chamber through which a dry inert gas is passed. Once the gas has entered the gas chamber it is evenly distributed through needles directly to the surface of the sample. This, in combination with the heat from the block below, creates the ideal conditions for fast efficient evaporation.

The custom made needles are available in stainless steel or PTFE in two lengths, 76mm and 127mm to ensure compatibility with even the longest test tubes. The needle configuration can be easily adjusted to fit any combination of tubes, from 26mm test tubes to 0.5ml microcentrifuge tubes.

The sample concentrator is compatible with the Stuart 200oC and the new 130oC three-block heaters. The new 130oC three-block version has a bright easy to read LED display and sensitive electronic controls to ensure excellent temperature stability and uniformity.

All Stuart® block heaters are provided with BioCote® antimicrobial protection and a 3 year warranty as standard.
