Thermo Fisher Scientific Expands Thermo Scientific M.I.C. Evaluator Range to Include Tigecycline
Thermo Fisher Scientific have expanded the Thermo Scientific range of M.I.C.Evaluator™ (M.I.C.E.) Strips to include the antibiotic tigecycline. This and other recently added antimicrobials, including ceftazidime and amikacin, ensure that the comprehensive M.I.C.E. range for the accurate determination of minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) values meets the current needs of clinical microbiologists for antimicrobial susceptibility testing. |
M.I.C.E. Strips provide a gradient of stabilized antimicrobial in a convenient polymer strip format. When applied to an inoculated agar plate, the antimicrobial is released from the strip, forming a defined concentration gradient in the surrounding agar. Following appropriate incubation, the MIC value is easily read at the point where organism growth is no longer inhibited along the length of the strip. For the latest new antibiotic releases or for further information about the complete range of antimicrobial susceptibility testing products available, telephone +44 1256 841144, email leslie.bissell@thermofisher.com or visit www.oxoid.com.Each strip is individually foil-wrapped with desiccant to maintain its integrity until use. For convenience, and to meet the needs of every laboratory, M.I.C.E. Strips are available in stackable boxes of 10 or 50. The M.I.C.E. range is continually being updated with new antimicrobials. |
