Lab M Offers New Boost to Microbiologists

Microbiological Culture Media from Lab M
Showcasing their latest microbiological culture media at February's HuLST Food & Beverage Test Expo in Cologne, the Lab M team met microbiologists from a wide variety of R&D and testing laboratories.
'There's always an air of anticipation when exhibiting at a brand new show,' said Lab M's Sales and Marketing Manager Phil Large. 'We were pleased to receive a great response to the most recent additions to our culture media range.'

New Lab M products on display included Differential Reinforced Clostridial Medium ISO (DRCM) for the detection and enumeration of the spores of sulphite-reducing anaerobes, as described in BS EN 26461-1 and ISO 26461-1. Often used as indicators of faecal contamination, reliable culture of these organisms is essential.

For yeasts and moulds, the new Dichloran Rose Bengal Chloramphenicol Agar (ISO) and Dichloran 18% Glycerol Agar (ISO) both comply fully with ISO standards relating to food and animal feeding stuff. Alongside these on the booth were a new Staphylococcus aureus enrichment broth, and extensions to Lab M's range of Harlequin™ chromogenic media and family of MacConkey agars.

Lab M specialises in the development and manufacture of microbiological culture media, many of which are used in ensuring the safe production of foodstuffs and protecting human health.
