EnteroPluri-Test for Easy, Manual Identification of Enterobacteriaceae

Easy manual identification enterobacteriaceae

EnteroPluri-Test is a complete identification system, manufactured by Liofilchem, for the identification of Enterobacteriaceae, made of a transparent plastic carrier, divided in 12 sections containing different biochemical tests, and a metal stick for picking the pure colonies and inoculating the media. No reagent reconstitution or dilutions are necessary.

lio 1159h12bThe microorganism is easily identified by evaluating the color change of the media after 18-24 hours incubation at 36 ± 1 °C.

Three further reactions are additionally available:

  • indole by adding Kovac's reagent after incubation;
  • gas formation can be observed checking for detachment of paraffin from the medium;
  • Voges-Proskauer reaction.

liofil 1159h12a The combination of positive and negative reactions generates a code number that allows identification of the bacteria by using the EnteroPluri-Test Codebook. Automatic software is available as well.
