Bacterial Gastroenteritis Kit now Includes Campylobacter lari

Fast Track Diagnostics have improved their bacterial gastroenteritis kit FTD-14 so that it now detects Campylobacter lari as well as Campylobacter coli and C. jejuni.

The FTD-14 is a multiplex real-time PCR kit for detecting bacterial nucleic acid in stool samples as a diagnostics tool in the evaluation of gastroenteric infections, the panel can identify Campylobacter coli/jejuni /lari, Clostridium difficile, Escherichia coli verotoxin positives, Salmonella spp., Shigella spp., enteroinvasive Escherichia coli, Yersinia enterocolitica and internal control.

Reagents in the kits are sufficient for 32 or 64 reactions. These kit sizes allow maximal flexibility from 1 to 30 patients in FTD-14.1-32 and from 1 to 62 patients in FTD-14.1-64.

Using true 'walk-away' protocols, the Fast-track diagnostics range is an open system which means that they are compatible with many standard laboratory real-time PCR cyclers, extraction methods and enzymes.
