Description:

BIOBALL® is a range of quality control microorganisms specifically designed for food applications.

The reference strains are presented in small, water-soluble balls containing an accurate and precise number of microorganisms.

As they are ready-to-use with no need for culture, BIOBALL® limits handling and risk of cross-contamination of food samples.

The range also includes BIOBALL® LUMINATE 2.0 which are tagged with a Green Fluorescent Protein (GFP) marker integrated into the chromosome. Fluorescence makes them easy to distinguish from possible natural contaminants.

BIOBALL® range is suitable for positive controls, validation and verification of methods, performance testing of culture media, and includes the most common strains used in food safety, including Salmonella Typhimurium, Cronobacter sakazakii, Listeria monocytogenes and Escherichia coli.

Key Points:
  • Accuracy and Precision – precise number of microorganisms in each BIOBALL®
  • Certified Reference Materials – ISO 17034
  • Frozen and Ready-to-Use – reduced risk of cross-contamination and preparation time, as little as 4 steps
  • Stability – strain stable for up to 14 days
  • Traceability – provided with a Certificate of Analysis with detailed strain information
  • Fluorescent – BIOBALL® LUMINATE 2.0 are easily distinguishable from other possible contaminants
