The RiboFlow^®Listeria Twin Detection Kit enables highly specific yet very simple detection of Listeria monocytogenes and other Listeria species within just a few minutes, with little effort and equipment. A ribosomal RNA sequence specific for Listeria monocytogenes and a second rRNA sequence specific for all Listeria species are detected simultaneously by a proprietary nucleic acid hybridisation protocol in a simple lateral flow assay format within 25 minutes. Tedious nucleic acid purification or enzymatic amplification of target sequence is not necessary.

Using that approach a dual result from one test run can be obtained. Beside the information about absence of Listeria monocytogenes (ISO 16140-2 validated protocol) the test gives also an indication about presence or absence of Listeria. spp.

Testkits will come along in a convenient box with a very small footprint containing all reagents ready to use. The kits have a long shelflife and can be stored at ambient temperature. The devices can also be used to confirm single suspicious colonies from any selective or non selective agar plate and could be an additional tool for rapid molecular confirmation.
