Florfenicol and Thiamphenicol are effective broad-spectrum antibiotics that are analogues of Chloramphenicol with less toxic effects. The use of these antibiotics as alternatives for Chloramphenicol is restricted by European legislation with maximum residue limits for Florfenicol as well as Thiamphenicol.
