Maintain Temperature Stability When Sampling for SARS-CoV-2 in Wastewater
The new recommendation adopted by the European Commission published on March 17th provides guidelines in establishing a common approach for systematic surveillance of SARS-CoV-2 and its variants in EU wastewaters.
This document states that standard methods for sampling, measurement, and analysis should be made available and used in practice to ensure data collected is reliable and comparable.
Regarding sampling methods, member states should ensure that samples are taken over a 24-hour period and use a flow or time composite sampler.
It's well known that for microbiological samples, it is critical to keep temperature stability. LVM Thermal Solutions offers thermal blocks that fit into an autosampler to ensure continuous sampling refrigeration, thus providing thermal stability and homogeneous temperature during automatic sampling.
We offer different thermal blocks based on phase transition materials, adapted for most autosamplers.
