Rheonix NGS OnePrep™ Solution Automates NGS Library Prep Workflow
Rheonix has recently launched the NGS OnePrep™ solution, an integrated, automated method for DNA extraction and next-generation sequencing (NGS) library preparation on the Encompass Optimum™ workstation. Using the workstation, 24 sequence-ready libraries can be produced directly from raw samples in less than 5 hours, utilizing an expanding list of library preparation kits. The resulting sequence quality metrics and NGS data are comparable to more labor-intensive manual methods. The solution is compatible with bacterial isolates, buccal swabs, fresh frozen tissue, saliva and whole blood sample types. The acceptable sample types for NGS OnePrep solution will be expanded to include liquid biopsy (ctDNA, CTCs, and cffDNA), and the formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded tissue (FFPE).
The NGS OnePrep solution streamlines nucleic acid extraction and NGS library preparation on a single instrument. Existing methods are typically highly manual or require multiple instruments to automate DNA extraction and library preparation. By integrating all DNA isolation and library preparation steps on a single workstation, the Rheonix method not only reduces a one- to two-day process to less than five hours, it also eliminates the need for multiple pieces of equipment and dramatically reduces the technical skill required to successfully isolate DNA and prepare sequence-ready DNA libraries.
The NGS OnePrep solution offers the following benefits:
- Significantly reduced hands-on time and total time-to-results
- Ability to process up to 24 samples in less than five hours
- Reduced intra- and inter-batch variability of NGS libraries
- Reduced lab footprint and capital equipment cost
