Check-Direct CPE is a rapid molecular detection test for detection of Carbapenemase-Producing Enterobacteriaceae (CPE), covering the most clinically prevalent carbapenemases - KPC, OXA-48, VIM and NDM - including the emerging OXA-181 variant.

The test gives accurate results in 2 hours directly from rectal swabs or cultures with the limit of detection < 5 copies/PCR reaction for KPC, OXA-48, VIM and NDM.

Sample preparation is performed using the NucliSENS® easyMAG® for rectal swabs and crude extraction for cultures, followed by amplification and detection on the ABI 7500, CFX96TM, LightCycler® 480 system I & II, Rotor-Gene Q.

Check-Direct CPE is also available on the fully automated BD MAX^TM System.
